On saturday 14 November at 12 p.m. pst we will be presenting a concert of mostly baroque music in Longuedoc. I have invited Marie Gillard, an excelent recorder player from Switzerland to play. I will also present 4 renaissance pieces using a set or renaissance recorders made by Thomas Prescott. The full program and notes can be seen at http://thomdowd.blogspot.com/

The concert will be transmitted live in video from my home studio in Fribourg. Connect using QUICKTIME MEDIA VIEWER at URL rtsp://208.89.216.123/videoth

HVXSilverstar will record the concert in sl using the finest Machinima techniques. (please wear your best clothes.)

THE RECORDER SERIES

On 17 October 2009 will be the first concert in a series featuring students who will experience musical performance with it's nerves, joys and rewards for the first time. They will have the time to learn to enjoy performing because they will have several concerts over the entire school year. They will be hand chosen by there level of passion and preparation. There will be solos, duos with bass, trios and large ensembles.

We will also be experimenting with live streaming video so people can see them and their instruments. Please join us at Oct. 17th, 12 pm sl (21.00 Suisse) at Renaissance Island.

Life is an adventure

Due to a motorcycle accident I have a broken left thumb. I am obliged to postpone my Oct. 3rd concert at Innovation Island. We'll be back soon...

1st Concert Oct 3rd at Innovation Island

We are in preparation for a fantastic season. I've been blessed with the loan of a beautiful set of large bore renaissance recorders made by Thomas Prescott. I'm working hard with them now to learn the new fingerings. YOU WON'T BELIEVE THE SOUND!! We will also be experimenting with live video in SecondLife. This should add a new dimension to virtual concerts.
We will also have several student concerts this year with some fantastic young talent. The recorder ensemble "Music Or Die" will be back with us too.
