PERFORMANCE PRACTICE CONCERT SUNDAY 16 MAY


Marie, Amélie, Fabienne and Jonas have been working very hard all year to prepare for their "entrée en certificate". WEEKEND EARLY MUSIC FESTIVAL




On April 24th and 25th April the Early Music Group in Secondlife will present two concerts of quality. On Saturday at 12 p.m. pst (3 p.m. est 21.00 Suisse) "Faire Winds" will be joined by "Music or Die", two recorder ensembles for a concert of renaissance music." The concert will culminate with a sonata by Giovanni Gabrieli for 8 instruments in 2 groups.
On Sunday at 12 p.m. pst (3 p.m. est 21.00 Suisse) the group "Oriscus"will perform a concert of Gregorian Chant. Oriscus is a group of 6 women directed by Gérard Premand. The group was formed 1n 1995 and has sung many concerts in Switzerland and France. We think this will be a concert that you will not soon forget. 21 Feb. Alessandro Marangoni and Thomas Coard


It is with great pleasure that I welcome the Italian classical pianist and recording artist Alessandro Marangoni (Benito Flores in SL) to Switzerland for a live video concert in Secondlife. The concert will be at Music Island Sunday 21 February at 12.30 pm pst, 3.30 pm est 21.30 Suisse.
This is truly about two virtual friends getting together to play music.
Our program will consist of baroque, romantic and modern music all mixed for a concert of great diversity of emotions. The concert will also be broadcast live on Quicktime player at rtsp://64.33.51.171:8250/ThomDowd.sdp
On December 2007 Alessandro Marangoni played at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, with a tribute to the great Italian conductor Victor de Sabata, with Daniel Barenboim.

Alessandro Marangoni was born in Italy in 1979. He studied piano with Marco Vincenzi, obtaining the diploma with honours (summa cum laude) and he continued his studies at the ‘Scuola di Musica di Fiesole’ with Maria Tipo. Besides his musical studies he also obtained a graduated with honours in philosophy at the ‘Università di Pavia’ with a thesis about Fernando Liuzzi’s philosophy of music. He was also a merit student of the Almo Collegio Borromeo, one of the most ancient and important marangoni_ biografia_1_Livello 1European colleges.

After winning several national and international awards, Alessandro has appeared in many important musical events in Europe, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. His most recent performances were in Rome (Accademia di Santa Cecilia), Milan (Teatro alla Scala), Venice (Teatro La Fenice), Florence (Accademia della Crusca), Lucca (Associazione Musicale Lucchese), Ischia (the Walton Foundation), Cittadella in Assisi, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, as well as at the Engadiner Internationale Kammermusik-Festspiele, Sagra Musicale Umbra, the Italian Cultural Institute in London, the ‘Teatro Dal Verme’, Milan, the Saint John’s College, Cambridge.

As a chamber musician he collaborated with some of the most important Italian musical personalities and groups.
